Pics. The best coolant for a bmw is what one gets from a dealer. I would only use the factory bmw coolant mixed with distlled water t a ratio of 50/50 or 40/60 but no more than 60 % coolant.

If coolant leaks externally, use a flashlight and follow coolant to source. It does not specify which brand to use. Unless your climate calls for a greater ratio than 1:1 ratio of water to coolant (or you are using the evans npg+ waterless coolant), never. Somehow bmw has over engineer'd the expansion tank and level float.
